Collimating an Extended LED Source with a Wavefront Phase Modifier

Feature Demo

Abstract

This feature demo shows how a wavefront phase modifier can be used to collimate an extended LED source. Since spatially shifted modes originate from different source positions, the same collimating phase function directs them at slightly different angles, resulting in residual angular spread and limiting the achievable collimation.
