Best of Use Cases

No. 1 – Interferometry

To spread some holiday spirit this year, we have decided to send four special newsletters showcasing our "Top Use Cases 2019".
What makes it so special: there is also something to win.

Fast physical optics, as implemented in VirtualLab Fusion, provides the tools to perform fast simulations of the best-known interferometers, enabling the study of coherence and dispersion effects in the interference patterns. VirtualLab Fusion is a unified platform for the modeling of such complex systems based on physical optics and with a user-friendly interface.

In our first "Best of" Newsletter we focus on the Fizeau and Mach-Zehnder interferometers.

Fizeau Interferometer for Optical Testing

A Fizeau interferometer is set up with the help of non-sequential field tracing technology, and the interference fringes from several different test surfaces are shown.

Mach-Zehnder Interferometer

We build up a Mach-Zehnder interferometer in VirtualLab Fusion, and demonstrate how the tilt and shift of components affect the interference fringe.

Holiday Raffle

We are giving away four LightTrans cups, four Monopoly games, Jena Edition and as major prize one VirtualLab Fusion Introduction Training in Jena. The competition starts with the receipt of the first newsletter, right now. You can register for the raffle via the link below. The deadline for entries is 31st December 2019 at 23:59. The winners will be sorted on 06.01.2020 and then notified by e-mail.
