VirtualLab Fusion Release

We are pleased to announce the VirtualLab FusionRelease 2020.1!
All VirtualLab licenses with update service till 1st quarter 2020 are granted the update to this version.

Release Highlights & New Features

In this latest release we have added a full range of new features. Some highlights:

Connecting Solvers via Field Tracing, Brought to the Next Level

Diffraction effects are typically considered only at the exit pupil of a system. In our new version, we bust this restriction: the analysis of laser systems, cascaded diffraction, vignetting, 4f setups, and scatterers in lens systems, as well as any combination of gratings, microstructures, diffusers, diffractive and metalenses with conventional and freeform lenses is now enabled in VirtualLab Fusion.

New components. Improved algorithms. Faster and lighter simulations.

Our new components for gratings, plane interfaces and stratified media have the full advantage of a k-domain treatment. A catalog of innovative Fourier transform algorithms allows for a fast back-and-forth between the domains based on a fully automatic, but customizable, decision-making process. A unique hybrid sampling strategy keeps computational effort in check. We have also added a local linear grating solver for diffractive lenses and HOEs.

… and Even More New Features!

The electromagnetic field detector now also provides access to the spatial spectrum of the field, as well as improved phase visualization. Programming becomes even more user-friendly than before. You can see the beam footprints in the systematic design tool for light guide devices, or access the evolutionary algorithm from OptiSLang directly inside VirtualLab Fusion for your complex design tasks!
