EPIC Members New Product Release

Seamless Transition between Ray and Physical Optics Modeling

Content

02 November 2021
The EPIC Members New Product Release will be a combination of an online meeting with qualified attendees, and a live launch on YouTube for everyone to see. Several companies will release their latest products and will have the opportunity to engage with potential partners, clients, and the complete EPIC network! This is a great chance for you to listen to our President, Frank Wyrowski talk about the seamless transition between ray an physical optics modeling.
Ray and physical optics are often understood as two competing ways to model optical systems.

The optical scientist and engineer must select one and then hope that ray optics is accurate enough and includes effects of concern and that physical optics can be applied at all because of numerical resources. However, physical optics includes ray optics in theory.
With our software VirtualLab Fusion we provide a unified concept which is based on physical optics and provides ray optics as a subset of physical optics. In the new release of VirtualLab Fusion we provide a seamless workflow from non-sequential ray optics to physical optics modeling in a user-friendly way. We present the workflow and explain the seamless transition to physical optics accuracy for fast system modeling.

Check out the EPIC Video on YouTube.

We would like to thank José Pozo and the whole EPIC - European Photonics Industry Consortium - Team for the great Online Meeting.

Our presentation starts at minute 29:10 and ends including discussion at 43:41.
But Best - Enjoy all the Presentations!
